Launched in 2019, Australian Eye Specialists offers a Dry Eye Clinic at our Wyndham clinic.
What is dry eye syndrome?
Dry eye syndrome is a condition in which the eye either stops producing enough tears or the tears evaporate too quickly. Symptoms of dry eye include irritated, gritty, scratchy or burning sensations in the eye, or excessive watering and blurred vision. Left untreated, dry eye syndrome can become so severe that it may interfere with your daily life.
How is dry eye syndrome treated?
We use efficient and effective technologies to analyse, diagnose and treat dry eye syndrome.
Oculus Keratograph 5M technology is used to scan and analyse the surface of the eye. The test is fast, painless and non-invasive.
Eye-Light low level light therapy (LLLT) or light modulation technology is used to treat dry eye safely, painlessly and cost-effectively.
Maintaining eye health
Our dry eye clinic team can provide you with a range of products to help you treat and maintain your eye health over the long term.
The Blephasteam system uses heat and moisture to treat the meibomian glands in your eyelids. Meimbomian glands supply meibum (oil) which is necessary for preventing tears evaporating too quickly.
Optimel Manuka honey eye drops and gel are specifically formulated to treat moderate and severe dry eye syndrome, including sore, red and irritated eyes.
